'Strict action will be taken against errant NGOs'
Mumbai, Nov 7 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will take stern against NGOs which have misused premises allotted to them for running classes.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Kishor Gajbhiye, while talking to reporters, said the civic body will take back the possession of these premises from the NGOs which are found carrying out other activities there.
The premises have been allotted to the NGOs for educational purposes, to conduct classes. The premises cannot be used for any other purpose, Mr Gajbhiye pointed out.
Meanwhile, Mr Gajbhiye said the civic body has taken up the repairs of the existing schools and the schools would be repaired in phases after making alternate arrangements for the students.
The civic body proposes to repair 34 schools in the current financial year.
