Rs 31 lakh hawala money seized in Punjab

Amritsar, Nov 7 (UNI) The Punjab Police today seized Rs 31.28 lakh hawala money from a car near Beas town in Amritsar rural police district, SSP Iqbal Singh claimed.

The two ocupants of the car identified as Balwant Rai, resident of Jandiala and Ashok Kumar a local resident were taken into custody and later arrested under various sections of the law.

The seized money was being transfered by the two from New Delhi to Amritsar. The police gave no further details as investigations are in progress.
