Reliance enters footwear market

Bangalore, Nov 7 (UNI) Reliance Retail today launched yet another specialty stores by opening 'Reliance Footprint' in the city and in Hyderabad.

After the successful launch of supermarket format 'Reliance Fresh' and hypermarket 'Reliance Mart' the company was aggressively rolling out its fifth specialty format store across the country. The other four included Digital stores in Ghaziabad, Trends in Gurgaon, Wellness in Hyderabad and Jewels in Bangalore.

The store offers over 25,000 products catering to the entire family. This ranged from footwear, handbags to accessories, Reliance Industries Chief Executive (Footwear) G Sankar said.

Briefing newspersons on the new initiative, Mr Sankar said the company would open 15 such stores across the metros and mini-metros within a year.

The stores offered renowned brands from Europe and America across various categories. For men, there would be Geox, Ecco, Josef Seibel, Rockport, Hush Puppoies, Florsheim and others. For women, it would offer largest number of brands including Azaleia, Lee Cooper, Clarks, Levis, Picadilly and others. For children it would offer Adidas, Kappa, Puma, and Reebok, among others.

''Integral to Footprint was its adherence to product quality, which is one of the most stringent and based in International norms.

Right from vendor selection to raw material testing and manufacturing process control and finished goods trials, quality is maintained so that the best is offered to the customer, he added.
