Non-bailable warrant issued against UP DGP

Agra, Nov 7 (UNI) A local court of Ferozabad district has issued non-bailable warrant against Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police(DGP) Vikram Singh today in connection with an 26-year-old extortion case.

The warrant issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in connection with a case when Vikram Singh was Superintendent of Police(Rural Area) in 1981.

One businessman Ashok Dixit had filed a kidnapping and extortion case against Mr Singh on April 28,1981.

The court has fixed November 26 as the next date of hearing in the case.

Meanwhile DGP Mr Singh in Lucknow commenting on the court's order said that he will honour the court and will appear before CJM on due date.
