Landmark, Odyssey to set up bookstores in Hyd airport

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), which is developing the "Rajiv Gandhi International Airport" in Shamshabad, has awarded retail bookstore concessions to Landmark and Odyssey India Limited.

According to a GHIAL release here, each concession agreement was for a period of three years, beginning from the Airport launch in March 2008.

They would offer an extensive range of newspapers, magazines, books, music and movies in the warm international shopping ambience and friendly service from their courteous staff.

Landmark, belonging to the Tata Group, would operate the bookstore in the Passenger Terminal Building - Domestic Departure and Arrivals area - in the airport covering approximately an area of 80 sqmt.

Odyssey, a subsidiary of Deccan Chronicle Holdings Private Limited, will operate its bookstore in the International Departures area spread over an area of 42 sqmt.

Both the concession partners would complete interior works of their stores before December 2007 and be ready to commence business operations by February 2008.

These retailers had emerged as the preferred bidders to bag the bookstore concessions based on technical and financial parameters such as their background, network of operations in India, proposed categories of merchandise for the bookstore outlets, concept planned for these outlets and financial proposals, the release added.
