Govt to ensure maximum utilisation of SCSP fund: AP CM

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the government would ensure that the funds for the Scheduled Castes Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Plan schemes, were utilised fully.

According to an official release here, the Chief Minister, reviewing the progress of implementation of SCSP and Tribal Sub Plan with the officials concerned here, said there would be no ceiling in funds for various welfare and development plans.

A district level SC Sub Plan and Tribal Sub Plan would be formed under the Chairmanship of District Collector, he said adding that the departments should spend whole funds allocated for the welfare of SCs and STs.

Dr Reddy said all Urdu medium residential schools would be made English medium from Class 6, on the lines of Telugu medium schools, and Urdu would be a subject in these schools.

A state-level committee would regularly monitor the progress and flow of funds under the Prime Minister's 15 point programme, initiated for the welfare of minorities.

He said the government had allocated Rs 266.94 crore to the pre-school education for children aged between three and six under ICDS project, covering about 1.21 lakh minority students.
