Goldsmiths injured in dacoit attack

Bangalore, Nov 7 (UNI) Seven employees of a jewellery maker were seriously injured when they were attacked by a three-member gang of dacoits with swords and clubs in the city today.

Deputy Commissioner of Police B N S Reddy said the gang, belonging to West Bengal, barged into the workshop which was polishing a large quantity of gold jewellery and attacked them with sharp-edged weapons.

However, the 13 employees gallantly repulsed the attack and alerted the police, who rushed to the scene and nabbed all the three intruders.

Seven of the employees, who received deep cuts on their head and arms were hospitalised, he added.
