Global Automobiles books Rs 400 cr sales turnover for 'Rock 100'

Kolkata, Nov 7 (UNI) Global Automobiles Private Limited, a Xenitis Group company, today booked a sales turnover of Rs 400 crores for its newly launched 100 cc bike 'Rock 100' for the current fiscal.

Speaking at the launch, Xenitis Group Chairman and Managing Director Santanu Ghosh said the Company's 2-wheeler factory had the capacity to churn out 3.6 lakhs bikes annually and it had already taken order booking of 1.6 lakhs 2-wheelers to be supplied till March from the distributors.

The Company has also received export enquiries from Middle East, Russia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and some African countries, Mr Ghosh said.

Priced at Rs 19,990, the 'people's bike' would catch the fancy of 2-wheeler enthusiasts because of its mass affordability factor with 125 km/litre mileage, he said.

'' We are going aggressive for an all India launch of the motorcycle at the lowest ever price point by any 2-wheeler manufacturer in the country. This will cater to the requirement of the common people,'' Mr Ghosh observed.

'' Rock 100 will also be a rocking product in the remote areas where finance is not available and also will keep the 2-wheeler market steady even without depending on retail financing,'' he maintained.
