New Delhi, Nov 7: Offering a grand festival bonanza, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced the reduction in call charges for the long distance (ISD) along with intra-circle calls.
The promotional tariff scheme will be effective from tomorrow till January 6 next year.
Under the scheme, the ISD call charges has been slashed by 20 per cent at Rs 9.60 per minute from Rs 12 for Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iraq . However, it goes down to Rs 6 per minute in alternate premium packages.
Calling to United States and Canada has been cheaper from Rs 7.60 per minute to Rs 6. However, in alternate premium packages, it goes down to Rs 4 per minute.
BSNL will charge intra-circle calls (own network only) during the peak hours at 90 second pulse from the existing 60 second pulse that is at Re 0.80 per minute from current Rs 1.20 per minute. The call charges under alternate plans (premium) come down to Rs 0.53 per minute.
The intra-circle pulse rate during off-peak hours will be at 120 second from existing 60 second that is intra-circle call charges at Rs 0.60 per minute from existing Rs 1.20 per minute.
The call charges under alternate plans (premium) come down to Re 0.40 per minute.
