BJP demands arrest of Congress leader Shivakumar

Bangalore, Nov 7 (UNI) The BJP leaders in Karnataka today demanded the arrest of Congress leader D K Shivakumar for his recent 'provocative speech' against its MP Ananth Kumar.

Talking to newspersons here, the BJP leaders D H Shankaramurthy, Jagadish Shettar and V S Acharya said Mr Shivakumar's remarks that the Congress party workers should 'strip' the MP in public for making remarks against the Congress leadership, were provocative and could incite violence in the minds of the people.

The BJP leaders also condemned the Congress for launching a 'cleaning operation' near the Gandhi statue at a time when they were observing a dharna, demanding the Governor to invite the BJP-JD(S) coalition to form a government in the state.
