BEST to start 4 new a/c bus routes from tomorrow

Mumbai, Nov 7 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport undertaking (BEST) will start four new air-conditioned bus routes from tomorrow to ease the traffic in the city's corporate areas.

The buses will run in the corporate areas during office hours and is an attempt to encourage the office going crowd to shed their cars and travel by buses.

Speaking to reporters today, General Manager of BEST Uttam Khobragade said the rate of the tickets will be Rs 10.

Bus no. A/Spl-1 will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and NCPA in Churchgate.The first bus from CST will run at 8 hrs. and the last will be at 11.45 hrs. at an interval of 15 minutes.

Similarly in the evening, the first bus will be at 17.18 hours and the last will be at 19.18 hours.

The bus from NCPA will start at 08.18 hours and the last bus will be at 11.33 hours and in the evening, the first bus will start at 17.00 hours and the last will be at 19.30 hours.

BEST will also start a/c bus routes to and fro from Churchgate Station to NCPA.

The BEST undertaking has also kept in mind the growing business activities in the suburbs and bus routes from Bandra Station to Bandra Kurla Complex will commence from tomorrow.

Similarly, a bus route from Agarkar Chowk to SEEPZ bus station with an interval of 20-30 minutes will also commence from tomorrow.

This proposal will increase the use of public transport, feels the BEST administration.
