4 held for death of primary school student

Nagpur, Nov 7 (UNI) Four persons, including the principal and a teacher, have been arrested for the death of a primary school student here.

According to the police, Dipa Pradip Panchal (41), Director of Infant Convent, secretary Ashish Pradip Panchal (19), Head Master Madhukar Mushaji Khadse (35) and a teacher Kirti Rajendra Chafle (26) were arrested yesterday, for the death of Rahul Hiralal Itankar (6).

Rahul, a student of class II, died in the institution's premises on Monday morning. Later, the child's parents lodged a complaint that he had died due to severe beating in the school, police said.

On the basis of the complaint, an offence was registered under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), police added.
