Woman in Saudi Arabia divorced for being 'Ugly'

Dubai, Nov 6 (UNI) A bride, in Bisha, Saudi Arabia, was divorced on the wedding day because the groom's family found her ugly.

After the wedding, as the bride came out, the groom's family was shocked at her appearance and persuaded the groom to divorce the woman, the Al Riyadh daily reported.

According to some tribal traditions, a groom cannot see his bride even after the marriage contract is signed, a custom that is meant to protect the woman's dignity. He is only allowed to see her on their wedding day at the marriage hall.
