United Utilities selects Infosys for OMS modernisation

Bangalore, Nov 6 (UNI) UK-based United Utilities, that manages electricity, water and wastewater networks, has selected Infosys Technologies Limited to modernise its Operating Management System (OMS).

According to a release from the Infosys here today, under the agreement United Utilities would increase scalability and flexibility of its enterprise architecture through adoption of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), which was important for achieving regulatory compliance, involving the end-to-end design, development, migration and replatforming of OMS.

Over a period of nine months, Infosys would deliver a comprehensive approach to SOA adoption with frameworks, methodologies and reusable tools to facilitate United Utilities transformation to a service oriented enterprise.

Infosys Technologies EMEA Head B G Srinivas said ''our Legacy Modernisation solution, part of the Catalytic IT Solution suite, is now being deployed at four of the largest Gas, Power and Water Utilities in the UK helping these customers to adopt and implement flexible systems based on the latest technology to deliver better customer services and achieve regulatory compliance.''
