Top Maoist leader surrenders in AP

Kurnool, Nov 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh CPI (Maoist) party Action Committee and District Committee member Shankar surrendered before Nandyal town police in this district today.

Shankar, who was carrying Rs three lakh reward, surrendered before the police due to some disputes with other Maoist leaders, poilice said.

The surrendered leader was one of the key persons in the attack on Koraput weapons depot in Orissa and an accused of Durgi police station attack in Guntur district.

Shankar hails from Kurnool district.
