Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today alleged that the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was distorting facts on the Minimum Support Price (MSP) provided to agriculture produce by giving false statistics in the Assembly.

Intervening in the short duration discussion on the issue when the opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu was speaking, Dr Reddy alleged that the then Congress-led government at the Centre under Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao had increased the MSP for paddy on par with wheat. The disparity in the MSP for paddy and wheat was the handiwork of the erstwhile BJP led NDA government.

''I appreciate Mr Naidu for changing his mindset on agriculture and farmers' plight since his TDP was defeated in the 2004 Assembly election,'' he said and added the people of the state would soon know about TDP's concern for the farmer.

The TDP should tell the facts to people and not distort the truth, he charged.
