Navi Mumbai, Nov 6 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices suffered a setback for the second consecutive day today and declined by Rs 15 on reports of larger free sale sugar quota of 14 lakh tonnes for December as against 13 lakh tonnes for November, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.

Traders said this month there were sufficient stocks at the domestic markets and buyers were lifting their stocks as per daily requirements.

Prices of small grade and medium grades (per quintal) eased again by Rs 15 each on poor consumers and retailers demand.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also declined by Rs 10 each owing to sluggish demand from local dealers, traders said.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,335/1,396, Medium grade: Rs 1,400/1,485.

Ex-mill mall grade: Rs 1,320/1,350, Medium grade: Rs 1,370/1390.
