Sharma quits BJ, returns to BJP

Bhopal, Nov 6 (UNI) Mr Raghunandan Sharma today returned to the BJP after deserting Uma Bharti-led Bharatiya Janshakti (BJ) of which he was the Madhya Pradesh unit President.

Talking to reporters at state BJP office here, Mr Sharma admitted that he had differences with Ms Bharti over several issues particularly uniting Hindutva forces in Gujarat.

This was the main reason behind disassociating himself with the BJ.

''The decision was not taken for any political benefit but with the feeling to work with dedication, courage and authenticity,'' he said, adding that he took the decision after serious consideration.

Mr Sharma disclosed that no difference existed on the issue of Hindutva between Ms Bharti and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Hence, the BJ had not formed its organisational structure in Gujarat and was not interested in contesting polls.
