Pakistan protests UN chief's statement
Islamabad, Nov 6 (UNI) Pakistan has taken exception to a statement issued by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, voicing concern over the developments in the country.
Pakistan's Ambassador to UN Munir Akram met Mr Ban last evening and explained to him the ''grave and multiple'' challenges that led to the imposition of emergency in the country, Associated Press of Pakistan quoted a release by the Pakistan Mission to the UN as saying.
Mr Akram assured the UN chief that the scope of emergency was ''restricted''. ''Governance continues to be as close as possible to the Constitution, with the cabinet, assemblies and other organs of the state functioning normally,'' the release added.
