Judge did not commit suicide, was murdered

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 6 (UNI) Police have concluded that an ad hoc sessions court judge, who was earlier presumed to have committed suicide, was murdered.

The judge, Ajay Chavan (45), was found hanging at his official residence in Snehnagar on October 20. Police, then, had registered a case of suicide.

However, the post-mortem report submitted by the doctors yesterday, suggested that the judge was murdered and it was not a case of suicide.

The police had earlier sent the viscera for chemical examination, but it did not help. The police again approached the Dean of the Government Medical College urging him for a fresh opinion on the judge's death. The second opinion confirmed the post-mortem report.

The Kranti Chowk police, accordingly, had registered a murder case against unidentified persons.
