India, Singapore discuss development programmes

Singapore, Nov 6 (UNI) Minister for Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy exchanged views on transport and urban development with Singapore's senior minister Goh Chok Tong during his visit to the island nation today.

Mr Goh shared Singapore's experience in the development of transport infrastructure with Mr Reddy who briefed him on the recent economic developments in India.

Mr Goh was Singapore's second prime minister and has been accelarating socio-economic relations with India, including the bilateral trade promoting Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement between the two countries.

Mr Reddy is visiting the island nation just after Singapore's Minister Mentor and first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew visited India last week.

Prime Minster Manmohan Singh is scheduled to visit the city state for the ASEAN Summit, which begins November 19,2007.
