Four new SC judges take oath in Pakistan

Islamabad, Nov 6 (UNI) Four new Supreme Court judges today took oath in Pakistan under the Provisional Constitutional Order promulgated by President Pervez Musharraf on Saturday.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar administered the oath to Justice Ijaz-ul-Hassan (NWFP), Justice Muhammad Qaim Jan Khan (NWFP), Justice Mosa K Leghari (Sindh) and Justice Ch Ijaz Yousaf (Balochistan), who also remained Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court.

Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice M Javed Buttar who had taken oath as apex court judges earlier were also present at the oath taking ceremony, the APP reported.

Attorney General of Pakistan Malik Muhammad Qayyum, Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Sharifuddin Pirzada and Law and Justice Secretary Justice (Retd) Mian Muhammad Ajmal were prominent among those present.

Four judges of Federal Shariat Court were administered oath yesterday under the PCO.
