Boy crushed to death
Akola, Maharashtra, Nov 6 (UNI) An eleven-year-old school boy was crushed to death by a speeding truck near the Washima Diversion on Akola-Murtizapur road yesterday.
As the news of the accident spread, agitated villagers stormed the road and staged a 'Rasta-Roko' demanding the immediate construction of a speed breaker on the road. The protest brought the vehicular traffic to a standstill which was restored later.
The deceased has been identified as Karan Nazuk Sirsat, a resident of village Washimba. The incident occurred when Karan was on way to school.
The driver has been arrested and further investigations are on, police said.
