Varanasi, Nov 6 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Uttar Pradesh minister Kalraj Mishra today predicted mid-term Lok Sabha elections.

''The recent statements of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the Indo-US Nuclear deal and the Left parties, who were supporting the Congress led-UPA at the Centre from outside, indicate that mid-term Lok Sabha polls would be soon,'' Mr Mishra maintained while taking to newspersons here.

He said his party was fully prepared for the polls and claimed the results would be in BJP's favour.

On asked about the Gujarat Assembly election, the BJP leader noted this time too, his party would make a clean sweep and the next government would also be formed by Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

He further demanded from the Mayawati Government to ban the printing/sale of Dalit icon E V Ramaswamy Naicker Periyar's controversial 'Sachchi Ramayana' as it was spreading hatered in the society.

Terming the sale of 'Sachchi Ramayana' in UP as 'unfortunate', Mr Mishra added ''it has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus. No one has a right to hurt the faith of others.'' If the books written by novelist Salman Rushdie and Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin could be banned then why not Sachchi Ramayana, he underlined.
