BJP extends invitation to Bhujbal

Mumbai, Nov 6 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said they have extended an invitation to state PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal to join the party.

''Yes, we have told NCP leader Bhujbal that you can join us,'' said Mr Gadkari while talking to reporters here.

Mr Bhujbal, a former Shiv Sena strongman and now in NCP, is reportedly unhappy with his position in the party and several political parties, including BSP, are reportedly trying to woo him.

Mr Bhujbal last month shared a dais with senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde on the occasion of his 60th birthday function, sparking speculations over his move. Then, he also attended a function held to commemorate the 58th birth anniversary of former BJP leader late Pramod Mahajan.

Mr Bhujbal, who champions the cause of OBCs, had been the deputy chief minister earlier.

Mr Gadkari said Mr Bhujbal had made a remark to him and Mr Munde that when many other parties were inviting him, why was the BJP not inviting him. To that, they extended the invitation to him immediately.
