Bangalore-bound BA flight diverted to Chennai

Chennai, Nov 6 (UNI) A Bangalore-bound British Airways (BA) flight from London, with 216 passengers on board, was diverted to Chennai today due to bad weather conditions there.

Airport sources said the flight, which took off at London at 2200 hrs (IST) last night, was scheduled to land at 0830 hrs this morning.

After reaching Bangalore, the flight could not land there due to poor weather and the aircraft was diverted to Chennai at 0900 hrs.

All the passengers were disembarked from the aircraft and they left for Bangalore at around 1000 hrs in various domestic flights and low cost airliners after the weather improved there.

The British Airways flight could not take off to Bangalore since as per rules, the pilot after alighting from the aircraft, should have minimum of seven hours rest before boarding the flight again.
