AP CM reviews progress in land acquisition

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed the progress of land acquisition for irrigation and 'Indiramma' housing programmes with ministers and officials at Secretariat.

He asked the officials to call for a special meeting of Joint Collectors and Special Colleector here on land acquisition for irrigation and housing.

The Chief Minister assured that appointment of the Joint Collector for Development would be speeded up.

A land acquisition committee would be formed and it would be convened every month to review the progress on irrigation and Indiramma scheme, Dr Reddy said adding the hurdle in land acquisition for irrigation was endowment land and cases connected with it, an official release said here.
