Kathmandu, Nov 6 (UNI) Chief of the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) Ian Martin today suggested the parties announce a realistic date for the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.

''Announcing a new date is not enough and that the parties should move ahead by delineating a new realistic road map for a feasible election,'' Kantipur qouted him as saying.

He suggested that the government should improve public security situation in different parts of the country, including the Terai, not only on the day of election but also in the run up to the polls.

Mr Martin also stressed on proper representation of all the people in the elections.

''UN Security Council was positive about extending the term of the UNMIN, which is ending in January, 2008 if the government requested,'' he added.
