A new turn in Reshma case

Patna, Nov 6 (UNI) The Reshma murder case today took a new turn when two people gave statement in the court on oath that late Teni had no sister-in-law named Reshma Khatoon.

Yesterday, four people had claimed to identify the dead body as their relative named Kajal.

During the day Mohammad Shakeel and his son Khurram Ahmad alias Suraj were produced by Patna Police before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Patna with a prayer to record their statement on oath under Section 164 of the code of criminal procedure. The CJM authorised Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate to record their statement.

Witness Mahammad Shakeel stated that he had three daughters Soni Khatoon, Baby Khatoon and Afsana Khatoon alias Chanda. Baby Khatoon was married to Abdul Jaseem alias Teni (now deceased) and his daughters were alive.

Both the witnesses confirmed that they did not know Reshma Khatoon.

It was to be noted that body of a young lady was found near the community hall of Electricity colony under Shashtri Nagar Police Station on October 31, 2007, presumed as Reshma.
