Nagpur, Nov 6 (UNI) Two undertrials, lodged in the Nagpur Central Jail, escaped by giving the escorting personnel a slip, police said today.

According to police, the undertrials, identified as Vijay alias Raja Mathuraprasad Budele (22) and Ashish alias Golu Dashrath Fulsunge (32), ran away as they were being brought back to jail, after a court appearance last evening.

They had earlier been taken to Jabalpur and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh (MP) to be produced in court, police said.

A search has been launched for the duo. An offence had been registered against Police Constable Naresh Nanhe for dereliction of duty and also against the undertrials Budele and Fulsunge under sections 223 and 224 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), police added.
