Manipur: Tributes paid to slain jawan

Imphal, Nov 5: The 22 Assam Rifles (AR), based at Maram in Senapati district, today paid its last respects to Rifleman H Sahinti Samson of one AR, who had laid down his life, fighting militants.

The PRO of AR said Mr Samson had sacrificed his life for the country on October 31 at Ukhrul in Manipur.

A contingent of AR personnel, led by Major J J Dominic, paid their tributes amid ceremonial gun salutes.

Major Dominic, on behalf of the IGAR(S) and CO 10 Sector, assured every possible assistance to the bereaved family.
