Tributes paid to Chittaranjan Das

New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani were among those who paid tributes to nationalist leader Chittaranjan Das on his 137th birth anniversary today.

Mr Chatterjee described Das as an idealist and harbinger of the revolutionary movement in the country.

Mr Advani, along with Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary and Rajya Sabha Secretary General V K Agnihotri, also paid floral tributes to the potrait of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das.

A booklet on his profile was also released by the Lok Sabha secretariat on the occasion.
