Realtor Mukesh Singh arrested for assault on scribes

Patna, Nov 5 (UNI) Realtor Mukesh Singh, close aide of ruling JD(U) MLA Anant Singh, was arrested here today in connection with the recent assault on scribes by the supporters of the MLA.

Police said Mr Mukesh Singh was nabbed from Ashokrajpath locality under Pirbahore police station and was being interrogated at Sachiwalaya police station in connection with the incident.

He would be produced before the court any time during the day, police added.

Meanwhile, another absconding accused, Vipin Singh, the bodyguard of Mr Anant Singh, also surrended before the court today.

Earlier, the scribes were assaulted and kept in captivity for a few hours by the supporters of Mr Anant Singh on November one when they had contacted the MLA for his comments in connection with a murder case, police said.

Mr Anant Singh was arrested and sent to jail on the same day for assaulting the scribes, it added.
