Pondy takes steps for minority reservation

Puducherry, Nov 5 (UNI) The Puducherry Adminstration is taking steps to implement separate reservation for minorities in the Union Territory, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the Legislative Assembly today.

Moving the Puducherry Value Added Tax Bill-2007 (VAT) in the Assembly, he said the Administration felt that it would be better to provide reservation on the basis of census and for this the Backward Class Commission had been entrusted with the task.

Once, the details were made available, the Administration would provide separate reservation for minorities, he added.
