One killed, 41 injured in bus accident

Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) One person was killed and 41 injured when a private passenger bus turned turtle on the Goshree Bridge near here today after developing a mechanical failure.

Police said the deceased was identified as Sajeev(31), who was the conductor of the bus, plying on the Munnambam-Ernakulam route.

Sajeev, who had sustained severe injuries on his legs and other parts of the body, died in the Kottayam Medical College, where he had been referred to by the Ernakulam General Hospital.

Forty-one other passengers were injured and admitted to various city hospitals. However, none of them was seriously wounded, police added.
