Microsoft CEO showcases cross browser

Mumbai Nov 5 (UNI) Close on the heels of Microsoft's announcement of the India availability of Silverlight 1.0, a cross browser developed by the IT giant, its CEO Steve Ballmer today showcased the potential of the new browser which offers media experience to users through the web.

Describing the new web browser as more interactive than ever before, Mr. Ballmer said ''With Silverlight, business in India can offer web applications that are richer and high quality end experience, which is delivered in lower cost''.

Two Indian organistions, HDFC and Indian Cricket League also unveiled new websites designed for Silverlight.

Other customers in India who have also piloted projects on Silverlight are rediff.com, Sify.com and Sulekha.com.

Silverlight is a cross browser which integrates with existing web technologies and assets offers consistent experiences to Windows and Macintosh users on variety of platforms.

Since its international launch early this year, over 40 customers have adopted this cross browser globally.
