Lalu violating security norms : Nitish

Patna, Nov 5 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today blamed Railway Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad for violating security norms and announced to raise the issue with the Centre.

Mr Kumar told newspersons here that under the prescribed security norms the state government was providing security to Mr Prasad but the latter was not apprising the state government of his programmes in advance causing great inconvenience to the officials engaged for his security cover.

Mr Kumar said he would write to the Union Government about the matter.

He further alleged that Mr Prasad was violating the security norms by not using the bullet proof cars, provided to him by the state government.

Mr Prasad was of the opinion that a public representative did not need much security and he also intended for holding a national level debate on the issue, he stated.

Regarding withdrawal of security from Mr Prasad, he said security was withdrawan as per the rules framed during the previous government.

Mr Kumar described Mr Prasad's ''Chetavni rally'' as a super flop and alleged that the Railway Minister had no time to look after his ministry, and non-availability of water in trains was an open testimony to this fact.
