Jammu, Nov 5 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat and other 'Darbar' move offices reopened here today for another six months following the biannual Darbar Move practice in the state.

A ceremonial function at the Civil Secretariat marked the occasion as Jammu and Kashmir Police presented the guard of honour to Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on his arrival at the Secretariat.

The Chief Minister later took a round of various departments and clerical halls and interacted with the employees in the Secretariat. He also met with the president and office-bearers of J&K Civil Secretariat (Non-Gazetted) Employees Union.

All members of the Legislative Council and the Assembly were present on the occasion at the winter capital.

About one lakh people, including about 20,000 officials, shuttle between the two capitals -- Jammu for winters and Srinagar for summer -- of the state in every six months.
