Jawan's mortal remains brought home

Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) The body of Sapper Sudhir S of the 12 Engineer Regiment, who was killed in the Udhampur mine blast, was taken to his native place at Mavelikkara in Alappuzha district for last rites.

The 27-year-old 'jawan' had sustained grave injuries in the September 26 Udhampur mine blast and died in Delhi on November 3.

The body was received at the Nedumbaserry Interntional Airport near here by armed forces personnel this afternoon and later taken to his native place.

Relatives, friends and defence personnel were present at the airport in large numbers.
