Hearing adjourned in BMW hit and run case for tomorrow

New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) A local court today further adjourned for tomorrow the hearing of statement of accused Sanjiv Nanda and others in the hit-and-run case.

The prosecution has alleged that Nanda, who was driving the BMW car in an allegedly inebriated state, crushed six people, including three policemen, in the early hours of January 10, 1999 near Lodhi hotel.

Sanjiv Nanda, the prime accused appeared before the court for a second round of recording of statement following surfacing of fresh evidence against him during the deposition of witnesses recently.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar said earlier on November 2, since some evidence has come up in recent times, so accused are callled for recording of further statement under the section 313 CrPC (recording of statement of accused)''.

The court referred the testimonies of eye-witness Sunil Kulkarni and other experts examined by the defence earlier in the week.
