Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) The CBI today submitted before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court that it was conducting investigation into the unnatural death of Sister Abhaya ''diligently, fairly and impartially''.

In a statement filed before the court, Investigating Officer R K Agarwal said that after registering the case, the CBI had investigated it from all possible angles to establish the identity of the persons responsible for the death of Sister Abhaya.

The investigation was still continuing as per the direction of the court on June four last, it said, adding that a progress report on the investigation had also been filed.

The CBI filed the statement in reply to a petition filed by Jomon Puthenpurackal, alleging a deliberate delay by the CBI in investigating the death of the 21-year-old nun, whose body was found in a well in the Pious Tenth Convent Hostel, Kottayam, on March 27, 1992.
