60 injured as bus overturns

Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) About 60 people were injured when a private passenger bus overturned on the Goshree bridge after developing a mechanical failure, police said.

The injured had been admitted to various city hospitals, including the Ernakulam General Hospital.

City traffic police said that the private bus, plying on the Munnambam-Ernakulam route, overturned on the Goshree bridge at about 1000 hrs. after developing a mechanical failure.

Earlier, police had said that the bus fell off the bridge but later informed that it had overturned on the bridge itself.
