3 killed, 8 hurt in road accident

Ahmedabad, Nov 5 (UNI) Three members of a family died on the spot while eight others sustained injuries when their ill-fated jeep was hit by a speeding truck on Bavla-Bagodara highway, about 25 kms from here this morning.

According to the police sources, the accident took place around 0530 hrs today. Police suspect one of the drivers must have dozed off for a while resulting in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Changubhai Jivabhai Kardani (Patel) (35), his father Jivabhai (65) and mother Shantaben (60).

Theyhailed from Ajab village in Keshod taluka of Junagadh district andwere on pilgrimage to Haridwar and other places.

Eight others were injured in the acident and have been admitted to a private hospital here. Their condition is stated to be out stable.
