Patna, Nov 4 (UNI) All India Congress Committee(AICC) general secretary and in-charge of Bihar affairs K C Deo today assured that UPA government would extend all possible help to NDA government for execution of various development and welfare schemes in the state.

On his maiden visit here after assuming the new responsibility, Mr Deo told newspersons here that Congress was truly committed for upliftment of downtrodden section of society in the state.

''The National Rural Employment Guarntee Programme was exclusively launched at the initiateve of Congress president Sonia Gandhi'', he said adding it would help in ameliorating the lot of underprivileged in Bihar to a great extent.

He exhorted the party workers to inform the masses about the various welfare schemes which were being implemented with the funds provided by the Centre.

When asked about the continuation of its alliance with RJD in Bihar, Mr Deo parried the question saying every political party had the right to strengthen its mass base. He, however, clarified that in several states, Congress was engaged with electoral battle with different political parties but they were supporting UPA at the Centre.

''I have come here for the first time and I would study in details about the problems coming in way of strengthening it before spelling out priorities to bring the old glory of Congress in Bihar'', he stated.
