Top-listed Al-Badr commander kille in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 4 (UNI) A wanted top commander of Al-Badr outfit was today killed by police in South Kashmir district of Anantnag, a police spokesman said.
Superintendent of Police, Kulgam, S P Pani said a search operation was conducted at Damhal Hanjipora following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
During the operation an encounter ensued after militants, hiding in a house, opened fire.
Mr Pani said during the encounter a self-styled district commander identified as Arif Pathan, a resident of Pakistan was killed.
He said one Ak rifle, and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant, who was involved in a number of militancy related incidents.
