Hooda lauds contribution of DAV institutions
Panipat, Nov 4 (UNI) DAV educational institutions have played a pivotal role in disseminating the education throughout the country through its knowledge temples besides in preserving the Vedic culture in the country.
These views were expressed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda while addressing the students on the occasion of Mahatma Anand Swami Regional Youth Festival after laying the foundation stone of a stadium in DAV Public School Panipat and inaugurating a new constructed block of the school here today.
While lauding the role of the Swami Dayanand in motivating the girls education , the Chief Minister said that Swami Dayanand had dedicated whole of his life in eradicating social evils like orthodox and untouchability from the society.
The Chief Minister said that Arya Samaj had played a key role during the freedom struggle.
Mr Hooda said that by adopting the cherished principles of Swami Dayanand, the Haryana Government had set up women university at Khanpur to impart higher and qualitative education to the women.With a view to impart qualitative education to the students in the State, the Government had decided to set up Rajiv Gandhi Education City at Kundli and about 2000 acre of land had already been acquired for the project in which 25 per cent seats would be reserved for the students belonging to the state.
The Chief Minister also announced a sum of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of stadium from his discretionary fund.
