Emergency in Pakistan unfortunate: Farooq
Jammu, Nov 4 (UNI) Describing the imposition of emergency in Pakistan AS ''very unfortunate'', former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah expressed the hoped that democracy will soon be restored in the neighbouring country.
Talking to the mediapersons today in a brief interaction at an annual function of a local school here, Dr Abdullah observed that a democratic Pakistan was in the interest of India as if will help resolve outstanding issues between the two countries.
''Gen Pervez Musharraf might be knowing the conditions which prevailed in Pakistan and the extent of turmoil which the country was facing and led to imposition of emergency,'' the national conference chief patron said.
