Woman set afire by kin for resisting rape
Sonepat , Nov 3 (UNI) A woman, mother of three children, was allegedly set on fire by her brother-in-law after he failed in his attempt to rape her in her house in village Banwasa in this district, police today said.
According to sources, Kiran Bala, who gave her statement to police, succumbed to burn injuries in PGIMS, Rohtak.
Police have registered a case against the alleged accused Kapoor Singh, who is reportedly absconding after committing the crime.
The victim said in her statement to police at CHC, Gohana where she was rushed to after the incident that kapoor Singh entered her house in absence of her husband, an agriculture labrourer, yesterday morning and attempted to rape her.
When she resisted, he poured kerosene oil on her and set her ablaze, she stated.
Because of her serious condition, she was referred to PGIMS Rohtak where she died during the treatment.
