Hubli, Karnataka, Nov 3 (UNI) Rightist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) today thanked the people for their unprecedented support during Chakka Jaam agitation in protest against Sethu Samudram project and came down heavily against the non believers of Lord Ram.

In a resolution passed at its National working Committee meeting at Garag village near here, it said the unity helped in giving a 'fitting reply' to those who did not believe in Lord Ram. Lord Rama was a historic persona and his journey to Lanka was well chronicled.

There were vivid description about the building of the bridge, it said.

The organisation was also critical of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for "wantonly hurting the Hindu sentiments trying to destroy social harmony".

The working committee demanded that Ram Setu, which was reverred by the entire nation, should be declared as a National heritage monument. It was found out that the Sethu Samudram project was not economically viable nor does it make any 'navigational sense', the organisation said.

In another lengthy resolution the RSS also took exception to recommendations of National Commission for religious linguistic minorities and demanded that scheduled caste status must be 'completely delinked from religion'. Reservation to converts was a threat to Schedule Castes, it warned.
