'Killer' Blueline claims another victim

In
another
speeding
Blueline
bus
mishap,
one
person
was
killed
and
two
others
injured
when
a
bus
plying
on
route
number
621
ran
over
pavement
dwellers
in
the
R
K
Puram
area
on
Saturday
morning.
With today's incident, the Blueline death toll has shot up to 103 persons so far this year. As the news spread, an angry mob blocked the R K Puram road and pelted stones at two DTC busses passing by. The injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

“When
I
was
at
home,
I
saw
a
Blueline
bus
smashed
into
a
tree.
Then
I
heard
them
saying
on
the
news
channels
that
three
people
had
died
in
the
collision
but
when
I
reached
the
spot
I
found
out
that
one
has
died
and
two
others
are
in
the
hospital," says
an
eyewitness.
The High Court had recently asked the government to explain its stand and tell the court of the measures that the government planned to take to solve the problem of Blueline buses. The deadline given by the court is November 15.
In the past six months, Blueline buses have killed more than 64 people on Delhi roads. At present, 3,800 Blueline buses run on Delhi roads.
